DIGITAL & SOCIAL MEDIA PRIVACY POLICY

Due to the nature of our therapeutic relationship & boundaries, we do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on our personal online social networks (Facebook, Instagram). We believe adding clients as friends or contacts on these sites can compromise your confidentiality & our respective privacy. It may also blur the boundaries of our therapeutic relationship.

We keep an Instagram account & a Facebook page for our professional practice. You are welcome to view those accounts, but it is important to recognize the limits of confidentiality when following, commenting, or “liking” a post. Our primary concern is your privacy. It may also create the possibility that these exchanges become a part of your medical record & will need to be documented & archived in your chart.

Note that we will not follow you back. We only follow other health professionals or resource accounts. If there are things from your online life you wish to share with us, please bring them to our sessions where we can view & explore them together, during your therapy hour.

Please do not use messaging on social network sites to contact us. These sites are not secure & we may not read these messages in a timely fashion. If you have questions about this, please bring them up during our session so we can talk more about it!
